They will be sure that they are supported and their level of affinity will increase. Darkest Dungeon 2 is a roguelite sequel that takes a few steps forward and one or two back from the original, but keeps the gloomy but intense spirit alive. Try to buff, reduce stress, guard, or heal the heroes with the lowest stats. Characters are the main focuses of the sequel, which introduces the question of interpersonal relationships to your team dynamic, as you have to worry about not only whether two people compliment. Thus, be sure to pay attention to who you are restoring. The new relationship based decisions are interesting and the 3D visuals work great. In order for the team to be in good relationships, you need to make choices that allies will like the most. Gold pips mean that the affinity is in good condition, and Blue pips mean that the affinity level is low. The gameplay of Darkest Dungeon 2 is functionally the same as the first, just with some expansions to existing mechanics, a new 3D graphical style, and a brighter theme of hope in the face of darkness. In order to keep the relationship in good shape, you need to be able to distinguish between the moods of the characters. Later, depending on your actions, the scale will begin to reflect the level of the relationship, which determines whether your team will be strengthened or penalised. Safari 6.0.3 improves performance when scrolling on Facebook and while zoomed in on a Web page, plus while viewing Web pages with plug-in content. On the networking side, 10.8.3 promises reliability enhancements when using a Microsoft Exchange account in Mail, claims improved compatibility with IMAP servers in the Notes app, prevents Messages from displaying messages out of order after waking from sleep, and includes fixes for two Active Directory bugs that could cause delays on high latency networks and lock out users after accessing the Security & Privacy pane of System Preferences. Listen up for two audio-related fixes, one that prevents an audio stuttering problem on 2011 Macs, and another that could cause Logic Pro to become unresponsive when using certain plug-ins. If you’ve noticed wackiness on the screen after waking from sleep, that should be a thing of the past too. If you use Boot Camp in favor of VMware Fusion or Parallels Desktop, and you want to stay up to date with the latest developments on both sides of the fence, 10.8.3 adds support both for installing Windows 8 and for Macs with 3 TB drives.Įye candy lovers will be pleased to learn that 10.8.3 finally brings back to Mountain Lion’s Slideshow screensaver the capability to display photos from subfolders, and also fixes a bug that could cause the desktop picture to change after logging out or restarting. We still mostly print with BeLight Software’s more-capable Labels & Addresses, so we’ve not run into these problems (see “ Labels & Addresses Restores Holiday Card Sanity,” 12 December 2008). The Contacts app fixes several printing-related bugs, including one that caused cards to print out of order and another that caused addresses to print in the wrong location. This bug was minor, but embarrassing, so it’s nice that Apple has addressed it. Let’s take a look at the details.ĭing dong, the file URL bug is dead! See “ A Simple Text String that Crashes Most Mac Applications” (4 February 2013). Haven’t noticed any problems yet, we recommend holding off on the update for at least a few days until we’ve seen if it introduces any new issues. The free update is available via the Mac App Store, with delta (540.46 MB - from 10.8.2) and combo (793.69 MB - from any version of 10.8) updaters now ready for download from the Apple Support Downloads site. With OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.3 Update and the included Safari 6.0.3, Apple has squashed numerous nagging bugs, many of which were extremely specific and were thus overlooked in the larger 10.8.2 release from nearly six months ago (see “ OS X 10.8.2 Eases Notification Center, Messages Frustrations,” 19 September 2012). #1656: Passcode thieves lock iCloud accounts, the apps Adam uses, iPhoto and Aperture library conversion in Ventura.
Would recommend trying one of the free Vietnam-era versions that comes with a handful of planes. The feel and look is very antiquated like this game I reviewed, but it does have primitive A/A radar, working instruments, and some of the planes like the F-111 have additional features like ground-following autopilot and Ground Radar targeting. He also switch to an a la carte model so planes and armaments are unlocked similar to war thunder. I am not a big fan of the WWII and Korea eras so it's pretty much just a waiting game until Vietnam comes out with the new engine and additional plane/features. Eventually, he will redo the Korea game on the new engine, then the Vietnam games, then an all new Desert Storm game. Multiplayer was good compared to the more arcadey options out there but the developer recently decided to stop development on it to focus on the WWII successor that runs on the Gunship IV engine. Note: After posting on /r/hoggit I was informed that this was a port of the Mac F/A-18 Hornet game(s) from the late 1990's done by the same devs that created the original. If anyone has questions about this or any other iOS flight sim I have (see last image in the album), feel free to ask below or PM me. Overall, if you're an F/A-18 enthusiast or someone who wants to get their flight sim fix when they're away from home and aren't bothered by the lackluster graphics, I would highly recommend this game.ĭisclaimer: I am in no way affiliated, associated, authorized, endorsed by, or in any way officially or unofficially connected with graphsim, its owners or employees The $9.99 price tag may be a bit high for some, but thus far there are no in app purchases or ads. Standard and Extended game controllers are supported (I have not tried to use a controller yet). Multiplayer is limited to local network and bluetooth, hopefully they will add online multiplayer. There are training, campaign, sortie (mission builder), and multiplayer modes. Once I get some more time under my belt I'll be able to give more feedback on the flight model and weapons performance. For the most part, I think the simplifications they've made like a combined chaff/flare button and very basic wingman commands add more convenience than they do reduce combat effectiveness. Given that it's a fast paced combat sim, increasing the complexity by adding more sub menus would probably be too cumbersome and limit the user's effectiveness in combat. At least on an iPhone 6, there is not much more screen real estate to add more buttons/functionality without making them too small to see and/or press. The systems depth is incredible for a mobile game, I am not familiar with the F/A-18's systems, so I can't judge their individual accuracy, but the level of complexity is at or above the DCS FC3 level. The graphics are somewhere between Falcon 3 and Falcon 4 and generally inferior to some of the other iOS flight sims out there like infinite flight and aerofly 2. I only have a few hours playing time so far, but I took some screens on an iphone 6 and wrote some notes on the different systems. I was looking through the apple app store the other day and discovered a relatively advanced F/A-18 sim that I thought I'd share with everyone. If you select a 2D project, then the default texture import setting will be Sprite (2D and UI) with a Wrap Mode Clamp. When I created my project I had selected 2D rather than 3D, and one of the things that doing this does, is change the way the Unity Editor imports textures. I did a fair bit of searching thinking this was a Cheetah or Unity issue but it turned out that it is actually an editor setting. So jump right into the world of computer generated imaging, create 3D artwork for your next iPhone game or make your first animated character. Once I had made that change, I could use Fungus views in 3D space so I imported my first 3D model of a space station.įor some reason that I did not yet understand, when the models were imported, my textures were not tiling as I expected, instead they were centered on mesh faces and “smeared” toward the mesh edges. Cheetah3D is a powerful and easy to learn 3D modeling, rendering and animation software which was developed from the ground up for Mac. Because I wanted to use Fungus not using 2D sprites but using 3D models and characters, I had to make a small edit to remove the code where the Z value is hard coded to -10 on the View game object. Customers may upgrade from older versions for 59.00 (USD). Recently I was working with the Fungus asset in a Unity project. Pricing and Availability: Cheetah3D 7.0 costs 99.00 (USD) for a single-user license. Cheetah3D is a computer graphics program for 3D modelling, animation and rendering. Januin bloggingthumb / unity tagged texture / unity by admin Sadly, even the mighty (read costly) GTX 1080 could do so at a wonky 30fps. Here’s what we conclude.Īfter cranking up the visuals to an eye-pleasing 4K at the highest settings, the Nvidia GTX 1080 seemed it was ready to take on the pixel-punishment that would wreck most setups instantly. Naturally, like any snob PC gamer, we choked the life out of our benchmark PC to see if it can take on the visual grandeur of Final Fantasy XV. Bravo.īuy the Final Fantasy XV game here from Amazonįinally, Final Fantasy XV finds its way to our fancy and frighteningly powerful gaming PC. It might not have seemed possible, but Square Enix really has delivered a game that is for fans and newcomers alike. While the story is standard fare for the series (the pacing is a little strange after the first few chapters, and it gets rather linear towards the end), Final Fantasy XV stands tall as a welcome return to form, and an exciting look at the potential future for the series. It’s a mix of ideas that feel sandwiched together, but the combat remains fun throughout, and there’s something incredibly compelling about the world it all takes place that begs you to take your time and explore all the nooks and crannies. This is a story about four young men, and it’s full of heart.ĭespite the fact that the over-exaggerated, almost J-pop, boy band-like friends should annoy us, they just don’t, and you find yourself in the moments away from the game wishing you were back with it. There are moments where XV feels like Final Fantasy only in name – that’s how fresh a take on the series it is. We loved it, it’s exciting and offers so much customisation thanks to the usual amount of accessories, weapons, and magic that the series is known for. The combat feels quite unique, and is something you’ll love or hate. These vantage points serve another purpose, too: planning out a battle ahead of time, if you can sneak up and gain the higher ground to see the lay of the land. Since so much of Noctis’ warping uses magic, you can always phase to high vantage points to recharge instead. Unfortunately, it really doesn’t feel as though any of the encounters have been designed with this in mind, and most people will go with the default system. Here, you can pause combat and study the enemy, allowing for a more slow paced, methodical combat system. It’s rewarding, and looks amazing on-screen.įor those yearning for the days of old, Square Enix has included “wait” mode. While it never goes all the way towards being a full Devil May Cry or Bayonetta-style combat system, you can certainly surprise enemies with a backstab, or a combo from your team-mates. Holding a button will defend, and if you time it right you can even parry the enemy. Still, it's worth jumping through all these hoops if you can – FFXV has truly never looked better.Įnemies won’t wait for you to take a turn, so you’ll get attacked while planning your next move. How does 155GB (if you download the hi-res texture pack) sound? Installing to an SSD is a good idea, because it mitigates a lot of unnecessary load time and helps with general memory based lag and juddering – but you'll need a huge amount of space. Expect around 30fps unless you have multiple cards, or are willing to drop down from 4K. In fact, cranking things up to an eye-pleasing 4K resolution and the highest detail settings will take some serious doing: an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 wasn't enough grunt to handle the pixel punishment being dished out by Noctis and friends. That might sound technical, but essentially it means more realistic hair, grass, shadows and water – although each one comes with its own performance hit. There's a whole load to choose from, including Turf Effects, HairWorks, Voxel Ambient Occlusion, ShadowWorks and Flow technologies. There's no doubt FFXV looks fantastic running on PC, expecially with all of Nvidia's GameWorks effects turned on. It took a while, but Final Fantasy XV finally found its way from consoles to computers – so naturally we choked the life out of our gaming rig to see what it takes to deliver the true visual grandeur Square Enix had promised patient players. Fitbit estimates the battery will last up to 12 hours with continuous GPS. As with any other smartwatch, using Bluetooth or GPS will cause the battery to drain faster.
